To apply
for an IRC rating you need to complete the appropriate
application form. However, before you do so, please
read the notes that follow :

For
all other boats: You can
download one of the following:
If
you are using Microsoft Excel you can download an Excel
based application form.
Please
read or print off these notes before downloading the form
at the bottom of this page.
MAC
USERS: The
Excel application form is in Windows 2003 format.
Unless you have 'Windows for Mac' installed, the form will
not read or perform fully, and the information we require
will be incomplete. Therefore if you are using a Mac,
please contact us on 01590 677030 before downloading or
completing a form, thank you.
Please
note
Expedited
Processing Fee (2x
normal fee) may apply where guaranteed 5 working days
processing is required. This applies to new applications,
revalidations, amendments and
trials.

Please
read the IMPORTANT notes below:
PLEASE
DELETE ANY PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THE EXCEL IRC APPLICATION
FORM THAT YOU MAY HAVE BEEN USING. Only the new version of
the application form must be used from now on.
Note:
although the spreadsheet consists of 4 worksheets, the only
one you need to complete is the first one

Explanatory
Notes
Some of
these notes may be repeated on the application
form. Correct completion helps avoid errors, or
unnecessary delays in processing.
1. If
you have not already done so, please read the
general
application notes
2.
Please enter dates as year only YYYY (ie.
2006)
3. The
Yes and No boxes do not automatically switch - please make
sure that you have not ticked both boxes
!
4.
Please do not put N/A in any of the boxes which require a
measurement, as this is not understood by the import
program.
5.
Please choose the most suitable descriptions from the
various drop-down boxes. If there is not a suitable
choice, choose "other" and give details in the Comments box
at the end of the form, or in the cover message of your
e-mail if necessary.
6.
Please complete the form and return it to us by e-mail
to
info@rorcrating.com
7.
We have not yet set up a secure method of receiving credit
card details by e-mail. Therefore there is a
risk,
if
small, so if you would prefer not to include your Visa,
MasterCard or Maestro details in your e-mail, please note
this in your cover message and telephone us with the
details (+44 1590 677030), or fax them to +44 1590 679478
stating your name and contact number, and the yacht name
& sail number to which they
refer.
Alternatively you can mail us a sterling cheque, payable to
Seahorse Rating Ltd. Again, please let us know you will be
doing this and make sure you enclose your name and the
name/sail number of yacht with your
cheque.
The
Application Form
The
Application sheet is
essentially the same as previous versions. With the obvious
exception of any cells into which data must be entered,
this sheet is locked. It is a read-only file so
you will need to save it under the boat name/sail number as
described at the top of the form.
The
Validations sheet is
new and is very relevant. It is for your use in checking
the data. It is completely locked and may not be edited. It
works as follows:
Column
A: Lists
all the variables to be validated.
Column
B: Shows
any variables or other data that is required and is
MISSING.
Column
C: Shows
any data that has been entered which is PROBABLY
ERRONEOUS.
Column
D: Shows any data which is at variance
from the norms to be expected. It is therefore
WARNINGS
Please
DO review
the
Validations sheet
for your application. If data is missing or probably
erroneous, we will simply come back to you before running
the application.
The
Standard Hulls sheet
shows those designs for which we should be able to use
standard hull data.
The
Keel types sheet
shows the drawings you need to answer the question about
the single fin keel type.
The
Access Import and
Inputs sheets
are locked and not relevant to you. We read the data from
these into the IRC rating calculation
software
Please
DO NOT send a
new application for a new boat more than once. If you have
corrections to make or additional information to send,
please simply send us an E-Mail detailing the specific
changes, or use the new trial/amendment form (included in
zip file below)

have any queries, please get in touch.
Due to
some people encountering problems with saving the Excel
form from the web, we have put it into a
zip file which
you can download and then extract onto your
computer.
The zip file contains: IRC application form, OOD
application form, Rule text, Fees, Amendment/trial form
(for use after you have a current certificate),
Short-handed application form.
When completing the form
• Write
clearly in BLOCK CAPITALS
• State
all measurements in metres and kilogrammes
• Complete
as much detail as you can. - Missing information may cause
a delay in processing your certificate.
